Location: Mobile Plant – Liquid Environmental Solutions
Pay: $19–$20/hour to start
Schedule: AM and PM shifts available (8-hour shifts)

About the Role

Are you passionate about environmental science and protecting your community’s health and safety? Do you enjoy hands-on work in chemistry and lab testing? Liquid Environmental Solutions is looking for a Lab Technician to join our team in Mobile, AL. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring that all liquids processed in our facility meet safety and environmental standards through routine lab analysis and compliance testing.

Key Responsibilities
• Receive and inspect incoming trucks; verify manifests and offloading tickets.
• Perform chemical and physical analysis of industrial and wastewater samples to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare lab solutions, reagents, and standards according to SOPs.
• Conduct pre-approval testing and report findings to determine acceptance or rejection.
• Record and analyze test data; maintain accurate files and enter results into the database.
• Clean and maintain laboratory equipment and glassware.
• Manage and maintain inventory of chemicals and supplies.
• Conduct QA/QC testing and uphold lab quality control protocols.
• Assist plant operators as needed during downtime or shift overlaps.
• Handle regulatory documentation including manifests, bills of lading, and logbooks.
• Coordinate with lab supervisor on special projects and customer communication.
• Perform metals testing on ICP, COD, and volatile solvents using gas chromatography.
• Collect and send compliance samples to outside labs bi-monthly.
• Ensure a clean, safe work environment by following all safety procedures and environmental regulations.

Who You Are
• Experience: 1+ year working in a laboratory setting (wastewater experience a plus)
• Education: 3 hours of college-level chemistry (or equivalent experience)
• Skills:
• Familiarity with ICP, COD, and GC testing equipment
• Strong data entry and basic computer skills (MS Office Suite)
• Understanding of lab safety protocols and PPE
• Attributes:
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Able to work inside and outside in all weather conditions
• Strong multitasking and time management skills

Salary: $38,000–$42,000/year (based on experience)
