Job Description
Stress Engineering Services, Inc. is hiring a Lab Assistant in Waller, TX. The role involves maintaining a clean and organized lab environment, assisting with equipment preparation, and ensuring safety compliance. Candidates should have strong attention to detail and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. This is an in-office position, requiring U.S. person status due to ITAR compliance, with occasional travel between Houston and Waller.
Overview
The Lab Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment within the Houston labs. This role involves performing cleaning duties to ensure that lab equipment, tools, and surfaces are free of debris and any hazardous materials. The specialist also supports the personnel in the labs by ensuring the space remains in optimal condition for work.
This is an in-office position. There are 2 positions located in Houston, TX and Waller, TX.
Responsibilities
• Inspect lab space and equipment regularly to identify areas that need cleaning or maintenance.
• Assist lab personnel in preparing the lab for experiments, tests, or maintenance tasks by maintaining cleanliness and ensuring all tools are ready for use.
• Sort bolts, screws, nuts, washers, and other small mechanical components into their respective bins.
• Maintain proper organization of hardware by labelling and categorizing parts for easy access and use.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling materials in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Report any safety hazards or damaged equipment to the supervisor immediately.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants must have U.S. Person status to perform the duties of this position.
• Previous cleaning or maintenance role a plus.
Special physical requirements for this job include:
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Capability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
• Ability to work in environments with potential exposure to dust and chemicals (with proper PPE).
Stress Engineering Services, Inc. has facilities in the following locations:
• Houston, Texas
• Waller, Texas
• Cincinnati, Ohio
• Calgary, AB, Canada
Due to our work with the U.S. government and its defense programs, this position requires compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As a result, only U.S. persons (as defined in 22 C.F.R. 120.15) are eligible for this role. A U.S. person includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders), and certain individuals granted asylum or refugee status. We are unable to sponsor work visas for this position.
There will be occasional need to travel to the various locations (between Houston and Waller) or potential future company locations.
