Future West Solar Corp is hiring a Junior Solar Installer in Chilliwack, BC. The role involves installing solar panels and equipment, working safely at heights, and maintaining a clean worksite. About the role
• As part of a small team, solar installers are tasked with reviewing installation plans with their team lead, then working safely on roofs to install solar mounting equipment, inverters, solar panels and some basic wiring. Then being a helping hand as the electricians pull wire through all types of buildings from small residential to large commercial.
• They must be able to work as a team at a fast pace while ensuring a clean and safe work site.
• They'll use hand tools and work at heights.
• Thriving in this role would mean completing work without errors at a great pace, identifying follow up tasks and completing them without being asked or directed.
What you'll do
• Execute the installation of solar panels, inverters, and ancillary equipment on both rooftop and ground-mounted systems.
• Aiding in the installation of equipment such as but not limited to; solar panels, rails, ground wire, sub panels, junction boxes, and disconnects.
• Assisting in running electrical wiring throughout residential and commercial job sites in a clean and tidy fashion causing minimal disruption to the site.
• Bend and secure conduit.
• Ensuring workplace safety by following WorkSafeBC safe working guidelines, with safety at the forefront of your decision-making.
• Performing all work in a timely and efficient manner, meeting or exceeding company expectations.
• Read and follow installation paperwork and team lead instructions.
• Providing high-quality workmanship and attention to detail to ensure customer satisfaction, while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
• Using company tools and equipment with care and reporting any damage or malfunctions immediately.
• Maintain clean work spaces through consistent maintenance and organization.
• Demonstrate adept troubleshooting capabilities to swiftly address any installation-related challenges.
• Ensuring no damage is done to company or customer property, and reporting any damage that is done.
• Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring utmost satisfaction throughout the installation process.
Qualifications
• Ability to use hand tools correctly.
• Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.
• Proactively complete tasks and independently identify and tackle subsequent tasks.
• Ability to work at elevated heights and in diverse weather conditions is required.
• Ability to follow SOP’s.
• Exemplary problem-solving prowess and an unwavering attention to detail, ensuring the delivery of premium-quality work.
• Adeptness in working autonomously or collaboratively within a team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Salary Range:
Start at Minimum Wage. 8 hours/day, Monday-Friday.
General travel within the Okanagan, must be willing to take on jobs in other locations (Chilliwack/Calgary) as dictated by company demand. Expenses outside of the Kelowna Branch area will be covered by the Company.

Yes (team)
• Physically demanding, carrying 25+ (50 pound) solar panels up onto a roof, must be ok working at height, able to work in confined spaces, working in all weather conditions.
