Junior Design Engineer

AltGen is seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer for a renewable energy company based in Johannesburg that specialises in sustainable, off-grid power solutions. The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and have a passion for clean energy innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the design and development of renewable energy systems
• Prepare 2D and 3D CAD drawings
• Support prototype development and testing
• Perform engineering calculations
• Maintain design documentation
• Participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions

Experience & Skills:
• Proven design experience in PV (photovoltaic) systems
• Solid understanding of energy systems
• Renewable energy experience is an advantage
• Familiarity with PVSyst or PVDesign is beneficial
• Familiarity with AutoCAD
• Minimum 1 year of engineering design experience
