About the position
HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the Modeling, Simulation, and Training team at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center - Nellis (JITTC-N) in Nellis AFB, NV. This role is crucial in assisting with the definition of project scope and objectives, ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are involved and that technical feasibility is maintained. The Project Manager will be responsible for determining project responsibilities by identifying phases and elements, as well as assigning personnel accordingly. The successful candidate will also determine the project schedule by consulting with subject matter experts, studying project plans and specifications, and calculating time requirements. Monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving any arising problems will be key responsibilities. The Project Manager will prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, and will recommend actions based on these analyses. In addition, the role involves defining, generating, and reviewing project requirements documentation, ensuring that work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained. Risk management will be a critical aspect of the job, aimed at minimizing project risks while meeting budgetary objectives. The Project Manager will also prepare briefs and present findings to multiple levels within participating organizations, along with other tasking as designated by the supervisor.
Responsibilities
• Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility

• Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements

• Determine project schedule by consulting with subject matter experts; studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements
,
• Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems
,
• Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions
,
• Define, generate, and review project requirements documentation
,
• Monitor project to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained
,
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks
,
• Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
,
• Ensure that project management and organizational processes are followed
,
• Prepare briefs and present to multiple levels within participating organizations
,
• Other tasking as designated by supervisor
Requirements
• 6 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant progressive experience
,
• Experience managing complex project plans
,
• Experience working in a government contracting environment
,
• Self-motivated with a driven desire to succeed with minimal direction
,
• Proven ability to work both in a team and individually
,
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language
,
• Must have an active or current DoD Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI Clearance
Nice-to-haves
• Experience working in both traditional PM and Agile environments
,
• Experience working in a Joint Simulation Environment (JSE)
,
• Understanding of the full software development life cycle (SDLC)
,
• Proficiency in software engineering tools
,
• Experience with configuration management tools
,
• Certification in Project/Program Management (e.g. PMP, PgMP, etc.)

• Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, and/or MS Project
