Investment Banking Specialist

Job Summary:

An Investment Banking Specialist delivers customized financial solutions to clients by assisting with daily banking needs, managing and initiating accounts, and recommending appropriate banking and investment products. This role emphasizes business development, credit structuring, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Core Responsibilities:

Business Development:
• Establish and maintain a consistent rhythm for SBA and corporate business growth within the market, including:
• Planning and executing follow-up communications
• Client retention initiatives
• Prospecting and onboarding new clients
• Proactive outreach via telephone and networking events
• Build and nurture a strong Center of Influence (COI) network with key community and business figures to drive referral opportunities
• Manage sales processes, assess creditworthiness, structure loans, compile and submit SBA loan packages, conduct client meetings, and evaluate individual and business profiles
• Create and expand new professional networks to enhance business relationships

Credit and Financial Acumen:
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of commercial credit solutions, including:
• Structuring terms and offerings aligned with business requirements, asset longevity, and strategic growth plans
• Analyzing business and personal financial statements and tax returns to determine credit suitability
• Identifying short- and long-term credit needs based on business performance and growth objectives
• Advise clients on loan evaluation criteria, SBA programs, and applicable regulatory frameworks
• Collaborate with attorneys, loan closers, and internal teams to ensure timely loan closing and funding
• Balance business objectives with client needs while mitigating risk exposure
• Uphold Seacoast Bank’s ethical standards and Code of Conduct
• Mentor and guide junior SBA and lending professionals
• Ensure compliance with BSA, AML, OFAC, and internal banking policies
• Process loan applications, gather client data, and maintain ethical lending and sales practices
• Respond to client inquiries promptly and escalate issues when necessary

Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• College degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of five years of experience in SBA lending preferred
• At least ten years of experience in business development or financial services required
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency in desktop, laptop, tablet, and smartphone technology, along with Microsoft Office Suite
