This role involves assisting in debt transactions, analyzing companies, and collaborating with team members to provide tailored financing solutions for Energy and Power clients. This position is for a 1st or 2nd Year Analyst role within the High Grade Debt Capital Markets group focusing on Energy and Power clients.The High Grade Debt Capital Markets ("DCM") team originates, structures, and underwrites various debt securities for corporate clients with predominantly investment grade ratings. The DCM team works very closely with investment banking coverage partners and relationship managers as product experts to provide debt financing solutions tailored to our clients' needs. The team's expertise includes public and private bonds, revolving credit facilities, term loans, syndicated acquisition financing, hybrids, and commercial paper among others. The market-leading team is primarily located on the trading floor in Charlotte, NC with a global footprint and coverage teams split across industries and/or products. Associate responsibilities include thinking strategically about financing solutions for our clients, participating in client planning and discussions, transaction pricing and execution, as well as coordination of the team's daily tasks and workstreams in coordination with Analysts.In this role, you will:

Assist in pitching and executing capital markets debt transactions (ie primarily publicly-traded bonds and other debt securities)
Participate in analyzing companies and their Capital Structure
Make recommendations to clients
Identify opportunities for process improvements within Investment Banking Program
Review and analyze market data, valuation analyses, models, and presentations that require research, evaluation, selection of alternatives, and exercise independent judgment to guide medium risk deliverables
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Take ownership of client deliverables and coordinate with your team to execute
Interact with internal and external customers

Required Qualifications:

6+ months of Investment Banking Program experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work effectively independently, as well as in a team environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Bachelor's Degree with academic distinction and coursework in financial accounting and corporate finance; MBA or CFA a plus
Willingness to work long hours in a demanding, highly focused collaborative and fast paced team environment with a sense of personal accountability and urgency for achieving results

Job Expectations:

Registration FINRA Series 63 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire.
Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire.
Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire.
Ability to work additional hours as needed
