Jefferies is seeking an Investment Banking Analyst/Associate for their Energy team in Calgary, AB. The Jefferies Energy team represents one of the largest dedicated Energy sector investment banking teams in the world. Our unique structure combines corporate finance and advisory capabilities with a large technical team of geologists and engineers collectively delivering superior financial solutions through industry and banking expertise. With our nearly 100-person team, we provide investment banking capabilities throughout the energy value chain including Upstream, Midstream, Oilfield Services, and ESG.

About the Role :

Jefferies is excited to have just opened up a new search for an Investment Banking Analyst / Associate to join our newly formed Energy Coverage team in Calgary. New joiners will have the opportunity to partner with some of the region's top bankers in transactions.

Primary Responsibilities :
• Assisting in the execution of M&A and advisory transactions, as well as equity and debt financings
• Preparing and delivering client presentations
• Analyzing business plans and valuing companies using a variety of methodologies
• Drafting offering memoranda, confidential information memoranda, management presentations, lender presentations, and prospectuses
• Participating in due diligence and drafting sessions
• Preparing the delivery of internal deal memos

These responsibilities afford direct and active interaction with clients (CEOs, CFOs, etc.) where Associates are expected to attend and participate in client meetings and contribute to building and maintaining client relationships. You will work on several projects simultaneously with teams of professionals, both within the group and across the firm, including Managing Directors, Vice Presidents and Associates, collaborating to develop and execute solutions to meet client needs.

Required Background :
• 2+ years of investment banking (or relevant industry) experience
• Strong technical, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage a variety of transactions and projects simultaneously
• Resourceful self-starter, able to work autonomously and as team player

The salary range for this role is 175,000 - 270,000 CAD.

The salary offered will take into consideration an individual's experience level and qualifications.
