Job Description
Seacoast Bank is seeking an Investment Banker in Goodyear, AZ, to provide tailored financial solutions, manage client accounts, and drive business development. Responsibilities include prospecting new clients, maintaining relationships, assessing creditworthiness, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Candidates should have a high school diploma, preferably a finance degree, and significant experience in SBA lending and business development. Job Summary:Investment Banker
As an Investment Banker, you provide personalized financial solutions by assisting clients with daily banking needs, managing account setup and maintenance, and advising on suitable products and services.
Business Development:
• Establish a consistent and proactive approach to SBA business growth, including:
• Planning and coordinating calls and tracking follow-up activities
• Making client retention calls to maintain strong relationships
• Prospecting new clients to expand the customer base
• Utilizing outbound calls to connect with external contacts
• Participating in networking events to foster relationships
• Develop and maintain a robust Center of Influence (COI) network of community and business leaders to enhance referral opportunities
• Manage sales activities, assess credit, structure loans, prepare and submit SBA loan requests, conduct client interviews, and evaluate individual characteristics
• Build and cultivate new business connections to support growth
Credit Acumen:
• Demonstrates expertise in corporate credit and lending, including:
• Designing terms and offerings aligned with business needs, asset lifecycles, and growth strategies
• Analyzing financial statements and tax returns to assess creditworthiness and risk for individuals and businesses
• Aligning short- and long-term credit requirements with business sales cycles and expansion plans
• Educating clients on bank lending policies, SBA programs, and relevant regulations
• Collaborating with attorneys, loan closers, and internal teams to ensure timely loan closure and funding
• Balancing business objectives with customer needs while managing risk exposure
• Following the ethical standards outlined in Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct
• Providing mentorship to junior SBA lenders for professional development
• Ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory frameworks, including BSA, AML, and OFAC requirements
• Processing loan applications and collecting required applicant information while maintaining fair lending practices and ethical sales standards
• Handling customer concerns promptly and professionally, escalating unresolved issues as appropriate
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• College degree in a finance-related field is preferred
• Minimum of five years of experience in SBA lending is desirable
• At least 10 years of experience in business development and/or financial services
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency with desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office Suite
