Job Description
Triple Point is seeking an Investment Associate for its Energy Team in London. The role involves evaluating investments in renewable energy, building financial models, drafting proposals, and supporting transaction execution. Candidates should have over three years of experience in energy transition investments, strong financial analysis skills, and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. The Team
The Triple Point Energy team manages a number of pools of capital, all with a mandate to accelerate the transition to Net Zero. The funds we manage are invested into both debt and equity investments.
Following rapid growth in our investment activities we are seeking an Investment Associate to join our growing investment team. The ideal candidate will have experience in making investments into the renewable energy and energy transition sectors. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of finance and sustainable energy, helping to accelerate the global transition to clean energy through innovative financing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Evaluating new potential investments through investment analysis and understanding the dynamics of the relevant energy transition sectors
• Building financial models including project finance/ debt structures
• Review and analysis of target financial statements and forecasts
• Support with drafting investment proposals and investment committee presentations with support and input from investment directors
• Involved in full transaction execution including supporting the negotiation of key terms and documentation
• Understanding and optimising the project contractual structures from a financial perspective
• Support with ESG risk and opportunity analysis
Portfolio
• Support with asset valuation reviews
• Monitoring and review of investment performance
• Support in documentation management
Other
• Conduct research on selected sectors or market segments to identify and support the origination of potential investment opportunities
• Support the wider Energy Investment team in the delivery of their objectives and responsibilities such as fundraising
• Provide assistance in transaction administration, ensuring compliance of internal procedures
Experience
• 3years + of relevant experience in energy transition investment
• Strong financial modelling and analysis, including debt finance / project finance structures
• Sound understanding of different debt financing structures
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Experience
• Experience in renewables and/or storage assets in the UK, and or Europe
• Have a grasp of renewable project commercials, understand project risks and associated management.
