Job Description

Nithio is seeking an Investment Analyst Intern to support its Investment Team in Washington, DC. The role involves assisting with investment lifecycle components, portfolio management, and credit analysis. Responsibilities include financial modeling, market research, and performance tracking of investments. Candidates should be enrolled in or have completed a Master's program in a relevant field. This is a part-time, 12-week internship starting June 2025, and Nithio is a remote-first company.

Role Summary

As an Investment Analyst Intern, you will support Nithio's Investment Team by assisting with critical components of the investment lifecycle, portfolio management, and credit analysis. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the company's mission and gain hands-on experience in climate finance.

Commitment: Part-time, 20-30 hours per week. 12-week term: June 9, 2025 - August 29, 2025

Primary Responsibilities
• Assist in the origination, due diligence, and financial analysis of borrowers.
• Support the preparation of financial models, projections, and deal summaries.
• Collaborate with the team to prepare materials for internal credit committees.
• Conduct detailed market research to identify trends and opportunities in decentralized energy.
• Compile and present data in reports, presentations, and dashboards.
• Track performance of existing investments, ensuring compliance with covenants.
• Support regular updates for monthly and annual portfolio reviews.
• Manage data integrity within the investment database.
• Organize documents received from clients in data rooms & internal storage.
• Document and streamline processes to improve team efficiency.
• Assist in structuring financing facilities aligned with risk standards.
• Prepare materials for investor presentations and client engagements.

Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Master’s program in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Familiarity with Excel and financial modeling.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in Africa or emerging markets preferred.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently and within a team.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
