Job Description

The Invasive Species Technician position at Purchase College, SUNY involves monitoring and removing invasive plants and insects on campus. Responsibilities include documenting plant communities, mechanically removing invasive species, recording data, and maintaining a native plant nursery. Candidates should be current or recent SUNY graduates, preferably with a degree in Environmental Studies. The job offers $20 per hour and is located in Harrison, NY.

Job Summary: Invasive species technicians will be responsible for monitoring and removing invasive plants and insects in the Project Area on Purchase College Campus.

Job Duties:
• Document plant community using established transect system
• Mechanically remove invasive plant species
• Record data on native and invasive species, along with treatment/control strategies for invasive species
• Maintain native plant nursery

Requirements:

Required Education/Qualifications:
• Current or recent SUNY graduate

Preferred Education/Qualifications:
• Environmental Studies degree

Compensation: $20 an hour
