CIM Group is seeking an Engineering Intern for Terreva Renewables in Atlanta, GA, for summer 2025. The intern will assist engineers by compiling, organizing, and maintaining critical engineering documentation related to Renewable Natural Gas projects. Responsibilities include managing documentation accuracy, supporting audits, and collaborating with various departments. Candidates should be pursuing a degree in engineering and possess strong organizational and communication skills.
ABOUT TERREVA RENEWABLES:
Terreva Renewables is an industry-leading developer, owner, and operator of renewable natural gas (RNG) projects, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. The company leverages technology to capture methane gas from landfills and convert it to renewable natural gas. Its senior management team has over 40 years of collective experience developing RNG projects, as well as extensive additional experience in landfill gas-to-electricity projects, gas collection and control systems, and midstream oil and gas operations. Terreva’s current portfolio is comprised of seven assets – approximately 20,000 scfm of raw landfill gas flow and 3.5 million MMBtu’s per year of RNG production (2025E) – in operation and construction across North America. Terreva is a portfolio company under the management of CIM Group, LLC.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Terreva Renewables is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Engineering Intern for the summer of 2025. This is an exciting opportunity in the growing industry of Renewable Natural Gas (RNG). The selected intern will be given projects by the engineers to start, execute, and see through. The project(s) as assigned can vary, but the primary task for this term is to assist in compiling, organizing, and maintaining critical engineering documentation. This role is crucial in ensuring that technical drawings, schematics, and other critical documents are accurately stored and readily accessible to support ongoing projects and operations. The intern will work closely with engineers and other stakeholders to manage documentation, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Compile, organize, and maintain engineering documentation, including Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and general arrangement drawings
• Work closely with vendors and contractors to identify and update any missing documentation
• Ensure all documents are accurately filed, labeled, and indexed for easy retrieval in the document management system
• Review and update documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal standards
• Work closely with engineers to verify document revisions and maintain version control
• Support audits and reviews of engineering documentation to identify discrepancies and recommend improvements
• Coordinate with different departments to ensure proper documentation flow and accessibility
• Assist in developing and implementing documentation best practices and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Software, Industrial, or related field)
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with document management software is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with engineers and other stakeholders
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design software is a plus
