Intermediate Engineer

Natural Forces Solar is seeking an Intermediate Engineer in Dartmouth, NS, to design and implement renewable energy projects. Responsibilities include leading technical designs for solar PV and battery energy storage systems, conducting system studies, and collaborating with teams and external partners. The Intermediate Engineer will play a key role in designing, analyzing and implementing projects while collaborating across teams to ensure systems are efficient, cost-effective and compliant with regulations, combining technical expertise with growing project leadership and decision-making responsibilities. Your Mission:
• Lead and support technical design of solar PV and BESS systems, including energy yield assessments, equipment selection and layout optimization.
• Perform system studies for interconnection at distribution and transmission levels
• Collaborate, review and interpret technical studies such as load flow, short circuit and protection coordination
• Support permitting and regulatory processes including preparation of technical documentation for submissions to utilities, regulators and stakeholders
• Ensure alignment of project requirements and timelines with internal teams
• Engage with external consultants, suppliers and contractors

Your Profile:
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng)
• 4-7 years of engineering experience in renewable energy, generation or system planning industries.
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
• Experience working in designing utility-scale solar PV and/or battery energy storage projects
• Ability to travel within Atlantic Canada regularly, and occasionally outside Atlantic Canada
• Must be bilingual (English/French)
