Job Description
• Serves as the Wildlife and Fisheries Program Manager responsible for planning, coordinating, programming, and directing all activities related to the management of wildlife and fisheries resources on an Intermountain Region, Region 4 unit.
• This is an open and continuous announcement. Applications will expire every 90 days. To remain active, applicants must resubmit their application.
Duties
• Provide guidance for developing wildlife and fisheries management plans, habitat management plans, and protection of aquatic resources.
• Inspect habitat improvement projects for compliance and recommend protections or improvements.
• Lead habitat and population monitoring studies for fish, amphibians, and wildlife.
• Plan habitat management programs emphasizing biodiversity.
• Review habitat management plans for technical soundness and effectiveness.
• Translate policies into regional programs and guidance.
• Participate in Interdisciplinary Planning Teams (IDT).
Requirements
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
• Male applicants born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with the Selective Service or exempt.
• Subject to background investigation and fingerprint check.
• Complete a probationary period unless previously served.
• Must have federal payments via direct deposit.
• Pass the E-Verify employment check.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
• Fish Biology Series GS-0482: Degree in Biological Science with specific coursework in aquatic subjects and animal sciences, or a combination of education and experience as detailed.
• Wildlife Biology Series GS-0486: Degree in Biological Science with coursework in wildlife, zoology, and botany, or a combination of education and experience as specified.

Specialized Experience Requirements:

For GS-11 and GS-12 levels, relevant experience includes data analysis, program input, guidance, and oversight in wildlife and fisheries programs, with specific criteria for each grade. Volunteer experience is also credited. Ensure your resume documents all relevant details, including dates, hours, titles, and duties.
