About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Instructional Designer to make a significant impact within our organisation. You will play a crucial role in our Digital Transformation Programme (DTP), focusing on creating comprehensive systems training. You will also undertake general L&D instructional design taskings from time to time.

You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to improving organisational capability, driving high performance, and fostering a positive culture. Your work will directly contribute to the safety, confidence, and proficiency of our trainees, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organisational standards. This role offers the chance to utilise your instructional design expertise in a technical environment, with opportunities for professional growth and development.

This is a contracted role for 24 months.

Responsibilities
• Ensure Training programs and tools are fit for purpose and meet the current and future capability needs of the customer, including researching methods and techniques of training delivery.
• Exercise innovation in learning program and learning artefact design and development
• Redesign existing courses to a student-centred, partially blended online delivery method.
• Design/storyboard supporting eLearning material/media (using audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.) for eLearning modules.
• Learning and Development brand is clear and offerings accessible to the workforce.
• Work with subject matter experts to understand target audience training needs.
• Apply end-to-end training project management skills.

About you
• TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or Diploma of Training Design and Development (TAE50216), other equivalent tertiary qualifications are strongly preferred with a minimum of 3- 5 years’ experience in learning/instructional design or closely related field.
• Experience working in a national, multi-site technical organisation is highly desirable.
• Excellent visual design skills, particularly in e-learning and instructional design.
• Experience with Articulate Rise 360, Storyline 360 is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated skills in strong stakeholder engagement and development.
• Videography skills are highly desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• In depth understanding of the ADDIE model.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
