Installation Technician

Green Building Automation is hiring a full-time Installation Technician in Westland, MI, with a pay range of $21.00 - $42.00 per hour. Responsibilities include installing Building Automation Systems, troubleshooting, and ensuring quality standards. Job Title: Installation Technician (BAS Systems)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $42.00 per hour

Location: In person

Responsibilities:
• Travel to customer sites to install Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Document accurate hours, site conditions, and work performed to report to Project Supervisor according to pre-engineered drawings.
• Communicate effectively with customers on-site and the home office, documenting communication accurately to the project team.
• Ensure workmanship and supplied equipment meet specifications and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot on-site problems and suggest improvements for systems.
• Connect electrical wiring, cables, and piping systems as specified.
• Perform testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
• Cut, strip, bend, and form wire cables, conduits, pipes, and tubing used to connect circuits and subassemblies.
• Glue PVC piping.
• Install and adjust electrical assemblies.
• Discuss errors in diagrams or production orders with supervisors or engineers to clarify assembly problems.
• Provide professional customer service to both internal and external customers.
• Use components accurately.
• Demonstrate effective on-site organization consistently.

Position Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous construction experience preferred.
• Electrical experience preferred.
• Plumbing experience preferred.
• Electrical/controls experience required.
• Microsoft Suite experience preferred.
• Must be able to read blueprints and schematics.
• Experience with power tools and heavy machinery required.
• Thorough knowledge of the subject matter, with the ability to solve unusual and common work problems, advise on technical matters, and serve as a resource on the subject for others in the organization.

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to work in varying work environments.
• Must be able to kneel, squat, and climb ladders.
• Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Work may include weekend, night, or on-call shifts.
