Information Technology Analyst

Apt is seeking a proactive IT Analyst in Alabama, focusing on cloud security, identity management, and endpoint protection. Responsibilities include Tier 2/3 support for Microsoft 365 and Azure, monitoring alerts, managing Zscaler configurations, and collaborating with the IT Security team. Candidates should have 2–4 years of relevant experience, knowledge of Microsoft Defender, Zscaler, Azure, and strong communication skills. The position is contractor-based with a salary range of $70K–$100K.
We are looking for a proactive IT Analyst with a focus on cloud security, identity management, and endpoint protection. This role requires working knowledge of Microsoft Defender, Zscaler, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft Entra (formerly Azure Active Directory). The ideal candidate will support day-to-day IT operations while ensuring our cloud and network environments remain secure, reliable, and compliant.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide Tier 2/3 support for security and identity-related issues across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
• Monitor and manage alerts from Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Cloud, and Identity.
• Support the configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting of Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Private Access (ZPA).
• Assist with the management of users, roles, and policies within Microsoft Entra ID, including MFA, Conditional Access, and SSO.
• Work with the IT Security team to implement and maintain Azure security services like firewalls, NSGs, Defender for Cloud, and log analytics.
• Participate in audits, patching, and vulnerability management activities.
• Document processes and maintain operational runbooks for the tools and platforms supported.

Required Qualifications:
• 2–4 years of experience in an IT analyst or support role, ideally with exposure to security or cloud environments.
• Experience working with Microsoft Defender, Zscaler, Azure, and Entra ID.
• Solid understanding of identity and access management, endpoint protection, and secure networking.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems, incident response processes, and ITIL practices.
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, AZ-104, or Zscaler Certified Associate.
• Experience supporting hybrid environments and M365 tenants.
• Exposure to automation or scripting (e.g., PowerShell) is a plus.
