Synergy is seeking an Information Sharing Officer in Perth, WA, to support information sharing initiatives and compliance with Freedom of Information and PRIS legislation. The role involves educating users, contributing to policy and process development, and acting as a contact point for FOI inquiries. Role Description

The PRIS Readiness Officer role is a newly created opportunity in our Data Sharing and Governance Team based at our Perth Central Park site.

The purpose of this role is to support the business in information sharing initiatives including Freedom of Information coordination and supporting business readiness for incoming Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing (PRIS) legislation. This includes providing support on implementation of the PRIS legislation readiness initiatives including education, policy, and process development to increase engagement with stakeholders and the wider business.

Job Responsibilities
• Provide education and support to Synergy users on information sharing processes and systems, Information sharing requirements including obligations under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act, and Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing (PRIS) Act.
• Support business readiness for PRIS compliance by contributing to documentation for effective governance of the implementation project and providing input into PRIS-affected policy and process development across Synergy to aid maturity uplift.
• Acts as a central point of contact for all matters arising from the legislation in FOI Enquiries, information sharing requests and arrangements, communications and reporting, recordkeeping, and governance.
• Knowledge and experience in the interpretation and application of the FOI Act in order to register and review initial FOI requests, conduct discoveries of information sourcing, analysing and evaluating information relevant and make decisions and recommendations on the release of documents.
• Contributing to the development of FOI, Information Sharing or PRIS readiness processes, reports, dashboards, standards, procedures, and guidelines for compliance with relevant legislation.

What You Will Bring
• 5 years+ experience in information management with a broad range of exposure to various business segments and technical environments.
• Demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation, including the WA State Records Act, Freedom of Information Act and Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act.
• Substantial knowledge and understanding of legislation, government policy and frameworks relating to records, information, and data governance, including current issues affecting information privacy and demonstrated ability to apply that knowledge.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the business.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, excellent organisation skills, and a proven ability to promote innovation.
