Job Description

New Balance is seeking an Indirect Category Manager in Boston, MA, to oversee sourcing for various indirect spend categories, including IT and Marketing. The role involves leading sourcing projects, developing relationships with stakeholders, and utilizing e-procurement technologies. JOB MISSION:

As a member of New Balance's Strategic Purchasing Team, this position will have oversight and responsibility for a set of Spend Categories supporting our Corporate Functions and Business units. Under the umbrella of $1B+ in Global Indirect Spend, this role will primarily focus on Indirect Spend Categories in IT, DTC (Retail and eCommerce), Marketing, HR, and Sales but not limited to the North America region. As a member of the Strategic Purchasing team, you will become proficient in the use and expansion of our Source to Pay solution.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Support and lead a set of sourcing improvement projects for assigned categories aimed at reducing cost while also improving service quality and total cost of ownership.
• Cultivate relationships with business stakeholders and organize Functional Teams with key business stakeholders to facilitate effective formulation and execution of long-term sourcing strategies
• Develop policies and procedures and lead negotiations with key business partners and suppliers to ensure best quality, service and cost for the company.
• Utilize a robust multi-step sourcing process to address and help prioritize areas of spend and opportunities for improvement
• Develop and implement formal supplier and category transition plans to ensure projects become sustainable and embedded in the organization's processes.
• Leverage E-Procurement technologies to support the Source to Pay process and connect strategic sourcing activities with transactional purchasing.
• Provide Cross Regional and Functional leadership to leverage best practices.
• As a member of the Global Strategic Purchasing team support change management and process changes that will be needed to deliver sustained value and benefit across the company

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
• Minimum of 5 years professional experience in Direct or Indirect Sourcing.
• Supply Chain Management, and/or Business Consulting.
• ISM CPM or CPSM Designation or commensurate experience preferred
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience exposure with large scale procurement transformations
• Experience with e-procurement tools SAP, Ariba or similar
