Job Description
The League of Minnesota Cities is seeking an IT Support Technician in St Paul, MN. The role involves providing first-level support for end users, managing endpoints like desktops and laptops, and assisting with virtual meetings. Responsibilities include troubleshooting technical issues, deploying new computers, and maintaining software inventory. Candidates should have experience in Microsoft Active Directory and supporting hybrid meetings. A high school diploma and relevant work experience are required.
Position is posted as Open Until Filled with first application review taking place on Friday, March 10th.
Provide first level support for end users residing on the LMC network and other supported agencies. Assist end users with basic application support. Manage all endpoints such as desktops, laptops, tablets, and cell phones. Provide support for hybrid and remote only meetings as necessary.
• Provide first line response for technical assistance and support to League and other contracted staff.
• Support League end user equipment, including laptops, tablets, cell phones, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
• Deploy new computers, utilizing standardized documentation and device imaging processes.
• Performs basic Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory maintenance, including Microsoft Autopilot deployment management, password resets, computer renames, and group membership.
• Assists with management of automated software package deployment.
• Performs site administration for League forums. Assists other forum administrators.
• Assists staff with virtual meetings as needed.
• Documents new and updated processes and procedures.
• Provides A/V equipment support as needed.
• Maintains inventory of computer software and hardware.
• Monitors on-hand computer supplies inventory.
• Assists as requested with researching and identifying new technology trends and needs.
• Assists as requested with communication to member cities.
• Assists with Technology Services policy enforcement and education, escalating as appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Independently troubleshoots laptop, desktop, tablet, A/V, and cell phone issues, escalating as appropriate.
• Reviews previous support requests for trends and suggests options to prevent similar requests.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, including user, group, group policy, Intune, and computer deployment management.
• Communicates with end users efficiently, effectively, and in an easily understood, non-technical manner.
• Demonstrates knowledge of applications used by LMC.
• Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work appropriately.
• Works effectively under pressure, as a team member, and meets deadlines.
• Contributes to a League-wide atmosphere of customer service and teamwork.
• Meets or exceeds League Empowerment and Performance Program (LEAPP) results/timelines and other department performance measures.
• Promotes diversity and inclusion objectives, including DEI objectives, defined by the League and continually examines own performance to eliminate implicit bias in carrying out duties and interacting with the public, coworkers, and members.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Two years of work experience in a Microsoft Active Directory/Azure Active Directory hybrid network environment.
• Two years’ experience in an environment with laptop and PC imaging and deployment.
• Six months experience supporting enterprise managed anti-virus for laptops, desktops, and tablets
• Two years’ experience supporting virtual and hybrid meetings using Teams, Zoom, etc.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
• Degree in computer related field.
• Experience using and supporting Microsoft 365 applications.
• Experience using and supporting Laserfiche or other ECM system
• Experience utilizing remote deployment tools such as Microsoft Autopilot and Intune.
• Experience with system package deployment systems such as PDQ Deploy.
