IT Intern – Renewable Energy

Compass Business Solutions, Inc. is seeking an IT Intern for Summer 2025 in Pittsburgh, PA. The intern will support the Technical Operations team in modernizing information systems and digital transformation projects. Responsibilities include assisting with data analytics, automation, and IT asset management. Candidates should be pursuing a degree in a relevant field and have experience in Python and SQL. This is a paid, full-time, onsite internship lasting approximately 8 weeks.
IT Intern – Renewable Energy

Exus is a next-generation Independent Power Producer that develops, owns, and operates renewable energy assets (Wind, Solar and Battery Storage) while providing world class asset management services for over 5 GW of renewable energy assets to third parties. Exus has a proven track record of constructing and commercializing renewable energy assets and they are building their portfolio by acquiring and building utility-scale renewables projects and guiding those still in development through to full operational status. As part of Exus’ asset management business, the firm undertakes full technical and commercial management of renewable energy portfolios worldwide. Exus draws on its wide-ranging expertise to optimize technical performance, reduce financial risk, and ensure long-term revenue certainty for their own and their clients’ renewable energy assets.

The Exus Technical Operations Department is seeking an IT Intern for our Summer 2025 intern program out of our Corporate HQ Pittsburgh, PA office. This is a paid full-time position. The anticipated duration will be approximately 8 weeks from June to August 2025. Duration, start and end dates are flexible to each candidate’s school schedule.

Internship Overview:
The IT / IS Data Analytics Support Intern will be responsible for supporting the Technical Operations team to modernize information systems and information technologies to support digital transformations. This internship will be project-based and will require cross-departmental coordination to successfully complete the project assigned. Additional supporting tasks related to IT and information systems, data pipelines, data warehousing, reporting methods, and IT/IS asset management will be required.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in digital transformation and data warehouse implementation per the defined internship project.
• Recommend (and aid in the creation of) any tasks that can be automated.
• Suggest modifications and improvements to processes, documentation, and relevant new technologies to support digital transformation initiatives.
• Assist with the other Technical Operations daily activities related to IT / IS and data analytics support.
Qualifications:
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, data sciences, engineering, or other relevant technical fields.
• Experience in Python, shell scripting, and other relevant scripting languages.
• SQL and API experience preferred.
• Experience with Identity Access Management preferred.
• Native or strong proficiency in English, speaking and writing.
• Ability to work onsite in Pittsburgh for the duration of the internship program.
