Holland Green Architecture & Interiors is seeking an IT Assistant to provide technical support primarily at their Thame, Oxfordshire studio, with options for some home working. The role involves first-line support, troubleshooting, and maintaining IT infrastructure. Candidates should be computer literate and possess strong communication skills. Job Purpose
HollandGreen is an award-winning, multidisciplinary design practice across Architecture, Landscape Design, and Interior Design. We have developed an incredible portfolio of high-end residential projects in London, Oxfordshire, the Cotswolds, and the home counties.
Due to recent exciting growth, we are looking for an energetic and self-motivated IT Assistant to join our team. Your primary focus will be providing technical support for our staff members, while working closely with our Head of Design Technology and other team members.
The role is challenging and stimulating, providing first-line support to the team in the office or via Zoom / email to ensure the team’s working smoothly every day. Patience, perseverance and diplomacy are all part of the job while helping the team work through the issues they’re presented with, so the position requires a friendly attitude, demonstrating active listening with an inquisitive nature to understand the needs of the team and be able to implement strategies to meet those requirements. Under the guidance of the HoDT there is opportunity to develop professionally whilst playing an important part in contributing to our future success.
Roles and Responsibilities
This role would suit somebody who is computer literate, has enthusiasm to learn new skills and likes helping people. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken is necessary.
Duties:
• Provide first-line technical support to the team in the office, or via Zoom / email to ensure technology-related operations are running smoothly each day.
• Work with other IT team members to identify and escalate complex technical issues.
• Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software on workstations and laptops.
• Assist in transferring data during system upgrades or employee onboarding/offboarding.
• Perform basic proactive tasks for backups / disaster recovery systems. Verify that scheduled backups are completed successfully and assist with data recovery if needed.
• Assist with the maintenance and support of the office technology infrastructure, working closely with our IT/Security management team. Help address basic security issues.
• Manage and maintain IT inventory and team training documentation including our internal Wiki / Knowledge Base
• Provide training and support to users of the company’s technology systems as needed.
• Assisting in decisions related to company hardware/leases, including researching options to optimize efficiency and performance.
• Stay up to date with the latest technology trends and best practices.
• Assist in installing or maintaining network cabling / AV technology when required
• Support the enforcement of IT policies, including proper use of devices and software.
• Document technical problems and resolutions to build a knowledge base.
• Report recurring issues or inefficiencies to IT management for process improvement.
• Assist the Head of Design Technology and undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required.
