Job Description
Enterprise Community Partners is seeking a Housing Sustainability Specialist in Seattle, WA. The role involves launching a Partner Sustainability Program to provide technical assistance to affordable housing developers facing challenges post-COVID. The Director will collaborate with leaders in the sector to stabilize organizational capacity and support housing portfolios. The position is full-time and focuses on addressing financial hardships in the affordable housing sector.
At Enterprise Community Partners, we exist to make a good home possible for the millions of families without one. Our mission is to create a national nonprofit that supports community development organizations on the ground, aggregates and invests capital for impact, advances housing policy at every level of government, and builds and manages communities ourselves.
We have been working towards this goal since 1982, investing $72 billion and creating 1 million homes across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands – all to make home and community places of pride, power, and belonging.
Job DescriptionSummary
Affordable Housing and Permanent Supportive Housing providers are facing unprecedented distress due to post-COVID effects, including rising costs to build and operate properties, continued supply chain issues, high insurance rates, rent collections, greater need for resident support services, and staffing recruitment and retention challenges, all leading to financial hardships for the organization and its assets, ultimately impacting resident stability.
To respond to the needs of our partners and the field overall, we are creating a Partner Sustainability Program (the Program). The Director will be tasked with building, launching, and implementing a multi-year, cross-divisional program aimed at providing technical assistance and capacity building for our partners nationwide, with an immediate focus on providing programmatic support to affordable housing developers facing significant threats to their organization's operation and housing portfolio.
The Director will work closely with both internal and external high-capacity leaders in the affordable housing sector to develop and deliver a multi-faceted and integrative program to stabilize the organizational capacity of developers and their housing portfolios.
