• *Job Description:**
As a Horticulturist, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining various landscaping projects. Your expertise in plant science and landscape management will ensure the health and vitality of all plantings, contributing to the aesthetic and environmental goals of our clients.
• *Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop planting schemes, considering factors such as climate, soil, and plant compatibility.
- Oversee the installation and maintenance of gardens, lawns, and other green spaces.
- Monitor plant health, diagnose issues, and implement pest and disease control measures.
- Conduct soil analysis and recommend appropriate soil amendments and fertilization practices.
- Advise clients on plant selection, garden care, and sustainable landscaping practices.
- Supervise and train gardening staff and coordinate with landscape architects and designers.
- Maintain records of planting schedules, treatments, and landscape plans.
- Crew management/employee training/mentoring.
• *Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Botany, Plant Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in horticulture or landscape management.
- Strong knowledge of plant species, soil science, and sustainable gardening practices.
- Ability to identify and treat plant diseases and pest infestations.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and team members.
- Proficiency in horticultural software and tools.
- Pesticide licensing in NY adn CT is a plus.
- Certified Professional Horticulturist (CPH) designation is a plus.
