Horticulture Technician, Senior

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is seeking a Senior Horticulture Technician in San Diego, CA. About this role:

You'll be part of an outstanding team dedicated to maintaining our grounds' appearance. This role involves horticultural, grounds keeping, and greenhouse tasks, including watering, weeding, planting, transplanting, pruning, mulching, and mowing.
• Install, care for, maintain, and remove park annuals, ornamentals, turf, and trees.
• Operate (with training) mowers, augers, trimmers, shears, tillers, utility carts, water tanks, tractors, forklifts, loaders, trucks, trailers, etc.
• Perform cold-weather protection and hurricane preparedness.
• Repair weather-damaged areas.
• Communicate professionally with Ambassadors, Vendors, and Guests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving guidelines.
• Previous experience in a Horticulture or Landscape setting.
• Able to work with and lead a team.
• Creative problem-solving skills and able to identify potential landscape issues.
• Scheduling flexibility.
• Dependability and willingness to learn all aspects of landscaping.
• Heavy machinery experience preferred.

Additional requirements:
• Able to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Extensive walking and standing throughout the work shift, climbing heights if needed.
• Perform physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, grasping, and fine hand manipulation tasks.
• Able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat.
• Work a flexible schedule/hours based on business need, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
