About the position

The company specializes in a wide range of services including planning, engineering design, environmental services, construction observation, program and construction management, and various technical services for federal, state, and local government agencies. The Home Energy Auditor position is a vital role within Egis BLN USA, LLC Emergency Management, focusing on energy efficiency and customer service in residential settings. As a Home Energy Auditor, you will work independently in a field-based environment throughout Indiana, conducting comprehensive home energy assessments. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service to program participants while identifying opportunities for energy savings, enhanced comfort, and efficient heating and cooling solutions in their homes. This role requires a proactive approach to customer engagement and a commitment to delivering high-quality assessments that comply with BPI Building Analyst/Energy Auditor training standards. In this position, you will perform visual inspections of existing equipment, conduct air leakage tests, and identify comfort issues within residences. You will also be responsible for completing detailed field reports in a clear and timely manner, installing instant-savings items such as showerheads and LED light fixtures when eligible, and advising applicants on further opportunities and next steps within the energy efficiency program. This role is essential in helping homeowners understand their energy usage and implement effective solutions for improvement.

Responsibilities
• Provide high levels of customer service at all times for program participants.

• Conduct comprehensive home energy assessments in compliance with BPI Building Analyst/Energy Auditor training.

• Perform visual inspection of existing equipment and air leakage tests.
,
• Identify comfort issues and give applicants guidance on solutions.
,
• Complete field reports in a clear, accurate, and timely manner.
,
• Install instant-savings items (when eligible and appropriate), such as showerheads and LED light fixtures.

• Advise applicants on further opportunities as well as the next steps within the program itself.

Requirements
• Valid driver's license
,
• High school diploma
,
• Basic mechanical skills and the ability to install small plumbing and electrical fixtures.

• Ability to climb stairs and ladders, access attics, crawl spaces, lift objects up to 30 pounds, walk, drive, and stand for extended periods.

Nice-to-haves
• BPI certifications for either Building Analysts or Energy Auditors

• Experience using field data collection tools, operate tablet or phone based applications
,
• Knowledge of or experience using residential energy assessment tools, or a background in HVAC or construction.
