Job Description
Green Infrastructure Partners Inc. is hiring a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in Kitchener, ON. The role involves maintaining and servicing construction equipment, ensuring safety compliance, diagnosing issues, and providing guidance to apprentices. Candidates should have a Heavy Equipment License and at least 5 years of experience. This is a full-time, in-person position focused on sustainable infrastructure solutions.

GIP is currently seeking an Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure all Workplace Safety, Environmental and National Safety Code Policies and Regulations are being adhered to.
• Read diagrams/schematics and manufacturers repair manuals for work procedures.
• Maintain and service a fleet of asphalt, aggregate and construction equipment.
• Able to perform services on electrical, hydraulic, power train, suspension, brake and air systems on aggregate, asphalt & construction equipment.
• Operate a hoist and lift device to position machinery parts in a safe manner.
• Inspect and examine vehicles and equipment.
• Lubricate, service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain vehicles and equipment.
• Timely and accurate diagnosis and repair including computer connection/diagnosis with machine to identify fault codes.
• Provides guidance and instruction to less experienced, or apprentice maintenance personnel.
• Performing hands on maintenance and repairs of all equipment.
• Diagnosing electrical, mechanical and hydraulic troubles.
• Making repairs per the manufacturers specifications.
• Utilize computer electronic systems to interpret failure modes.
• Suggest positive changes to policy and procedures as required.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Maintain excellent customer relations.
• Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
Required Knowledge and Experience
• 421A Heavy Equipment License an asset
• Candidate must be local to Kitchener / Cambridge area
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in equipment and vehicle maintenance and repairs
• Excellent mechanical knowledge
• Heavy lifting required
• Effective interpersonal skills (spoken and written communication)
• High school graduate asset
