Healthcare Enviromental Services Supervisors, CHEST Certification Required

Veterans Cleaning Group (VCG) is seeking experienced Health Care Environmental Services (EVS) Supervisors to help lead our contractor team on-site in support of the Central Arkansas Veteran's Health Care facilities in Little Rock, Arkansas. To apply, candidates must be a Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) per the Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE) accreditation guidelines.

Our goal is for every EVS technician to be trained on the highest standards of professional cleaning standards and techniques.

Our EVS Supervisors will be trainers of the Association for the Health Care Environment's Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) program.

Our EVS Supervisors will lead teammates in the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services Department. In accordance with the Project Manager's guidance, supervisors will train, coach and evaluate, and direct staff members. The supervisors will ensure patients, family members, and visitors have a safe and clean environment by providing the highest possible level of service. The supervisors must possess excellent communication skills including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all team members.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Assists the EVS Project Manager in annual reviews of standards and work procedures for all housekeeping staff and safety programs.

Participate in regular staff planning meetings and communicate with members of other departments to coordinate housekeeping activities.

Plans work and staffing schedules and areas of work to ensure adequate services are rendered.

Assists the Project Manager in the hiring new associates.

Provides staff education and continuous training. Trains all EVS Technicians on AHE's Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) program.

Track and manage daily cleaning services through computer and tablet applications.

Conducts regular inspections, attends weekly Environment of Care rounds and make recommendations to the Project Manager as needed.

Ensures patient rooms, bathrooms, beds, IV poles, furniture are cleaned per EVS standards.

Ensures staff completes all detail work including high dusting, low dusting, cleaning corners, edges, hopper closets, external vents, window blinds, soap dispensers, outside of trash cans.

Ensures proper handling and disposal of regular trash and of medical / Chemo Waste, soiled linens and uses proper PPE.

Ensures outside of facility is maintained in a safe, clean, and attractive manner.

Counsels staff members when necessary, according to company personnel guidelines.

Conducts regular inventory of housekeeping supplies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST), or higher certification, through the Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE). Additional information is available at https://www.AHE.org.

Associates degree desired.

3 - 5 years of supervisory or managerial EVS experience in a health care environment are required.

Compassionate, servant leader with empathy for patients, families, visitors, and other staff members.

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 software products and the use of tablet computers.
