Job Description
The Health and Safety Coordinator at Tate and Lyle in Van Buren, AR, supports the Plant EHS Manager by providing safety and health support within the plant. Responsibilities include inspecting work areas, conducting safety training, and maintaining safety metrics. The role requires significant time (50%-70%) spent in the plant environment, emphasizing compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety. The Safety Coordinator supports the Plant EHS Manager and interface with all levels of the plant organization providing technical safety and health support including day-to-day hands-on support for safety and health initiatives. This position requires the candidate to spend extensive amount of time (50%-70%) out in the plant. Work is performed in an environment where errors can lead to significant physical or mental consequences for self or others.

Tate & Lyle complies with all local/state regulations requiring salary range transparency.
When determining final compensation, we take into consideration: skillset, job scope, knowledge, prior experience, cost of living, market data, budget availability, and other factors as permitted by law.
The pay range for this position is: $54,936.95-$68,671.19.
This role may be eligible for an incentive award which (if any) depends on various factors, including individual and company performance

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Inspect, audit, and monitor equipment, work areas and work practices and procedures for compliance with established health and safety rules and regulations.
• Assist in identifying, preventing, recommending control measures, and eliminating safety hazards.
• Conduct: new hire safety training, compliance audits, investigations, and PPE inspections.
• Be visible in the Plant.
• Be a member of the Plant Safety Committee
• Maintain monthly reports including key safety metrics.
• Trend and analyze safety data and report findings and recommendations to Plant Management
• Enter safety data
• Assist with Contractor Safety Program
• Assist with new and modified processes/equipment/product development to ensure safety is included at all levels of design through implementation.
FOOD, ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH & SAFETY DUTY OF CARE:
Food Safety:
· Carry out responsibilities/duties according to food safety, legal and quality requirements to ensure that our products are fit for human consumption
Environment:
· Comply with all environmental standards, procedures, and work instructions always
· Report any environmental violation or near misses to prevent any impact upon the local environment, its inhabitants and Tate & Lyle
Health & Safety:
· Adhere to the safety policies, procedures, and site rules
· Fully participate in the safety program, including reporting any incidents or near misses and auditing
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Associate degree in related field preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA/industry specific regulatory requirements/standards and official interpretations
• Five year’s relevant experience in heavy manufacturing or construction environment Strong organizational and communication skills
• Demonstrated competency in the technical and training skills required to fulfil the position’s responsibilities. Ability to effectively motivate people, to enlist needed cooperation in implementing effective safety programs.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with personnel at all organizational levels.
• Strong Computer Skills (database, word processing, spreadsheet, etc.) Ability to focus on details and understand the overall impact of events and decisions.
• Ability to deal with regulatory agencies, consultants, and other contractor personnel.
