Catilas Resources Limited is hiring a Health, Safety, and Environment Officer (HSE) in Lagos, Nigeria. Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety, and Environment Officer (HSE) to join our team in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards across our construction projects.
Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
• Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Investigate incidents/accidents and develop corrective action plans.
• Provide training and awareness programs for employees and subcontractors.
• Develop and implement environmental management plans.
• Monitor and report environmental performance.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
• Conduct environmental audits and risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate records of HSE incidents, inspections, and training.
• Prepare and submit HSE reports to management and regulatory bodies.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders (regulatory agencies, contractors, etc.).
Requirements and Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
• Proven 5 years of professional and project experience in the construction industry.
• Experience in industrial settings with a focus on HSE work.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.
• NEBOSH or OSHA certification (or equivalent).
• Other relevant HSE certifications (e.g., ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001).
• License of professional HSE practitioner.
