Job Description
CrossSafety is hiring a Health & Safety Specialist in Jackson, TN for a full-time contract role. The specialist will ensure workplace safety by conducting audits, training, and compliance with OSHA standards. Key responsibilities include overseeing safety processes, conducting site walks, and investigating incidents. Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience in construction safety and knowledge of OSHA regulations. This position requires local candidates only.

Compensation: $25-45 USD/hour

🦺 What You’ll Be Doing
🔹 Be the safety champion on construction & industrial job sites.
🔹 Perform safety audits, identify hazards, and implement fixes before they become problems.
🔹 Conduct training sessions and worker orientations.
🔹 Collaborate with contractors, teams, and regulatory agencies to enforce best practices.
🔹 Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards.
🔹 Investigate incidents and create proactive safety measures.
🔹 Keep safety documentation and reports up to date and accurate.
Key Responsibilities
• Facilitate Permit to Work Process: Oversee the permit to work process, including general and supplemental permits. Review job safety analysis (JSAs) that form the foundation of the permit and conduct daily site reviews to verify accuracy.
• Permit Issuance: Issue permits within the client’s electronic system, ensuring vendors performing work receive the necessary approvals from the client.
• Site Walks & Compliance: Conduct regular site walks to ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) policies and the Construction Safety Plan.
• Safety Plan Review & Recommendations: Review and provide recommendations on project Construction Safety Plans. Work closely with stakeholders to ensure the plans align with safety standards.
• Incident Investigation & Reporting: Investigate EHS accidents and incidents, providing detailed reports on EHS key performance indicators (KPIs) and trend analysis.
• Support EHS Initiatives: Assist with the rollout of new EHS initiatives at both the site and project levels.
• EHS Audits: Provide support for EHS audits to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
⚡ What You Bring To The Table
✔️ 2-5 years of hands-on experience in construction & industrial health & safety.
✔️ Deep knowledge of OSHA regulations for construction projects.
✔️ Strong experience with site safety audits, hazard analysis, and compliance.
✔️ Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
✔️ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, tablets, and reporting software.
✔️ Certifications in Fall Protection, WHMIS, Silica Mitigation, & Hazard Communication.
Prefered
BS or Associate Degree in Occupational Health & Safety
