Job Description
ENERTRAG SE is seeking a Head of International Hydrogen Offtake to lead offtake work streams in international Power-to-X projects. Responsibilities include managing negotiations, defining frameworks for partner engagement, and establishing strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate has a degree in Business Administration or related field, 10 years of experience in energy or infrastructure, and strong intercultural communication skills. The position is based in Berlin, Hamburg, Paris, or remote.

Job Description
• Leading offtake work streams within international Power-to-X (PtX) projects—from early-stage development to permitting—is a central part of your role, ensuring integration of offtake requirements into logistics, certification, financial modelling, and tendering.
• Structuring and managing negotiations with hydrogen offtakers, from preliminary agreements to final contracts, falls under your responsibility to ensure commercially sound outcomes.
• Contributing to strategic development, you define internal frameworks and policies for engaging with offtakers, including criteria for partner selection, segmentation, and market prioritisation.
• Ensure an excellent information position, including the full awareness of all relevant policy under development and published in the relevant geographies that will support merit order analysis, as well as the understanding of prices of competing commodities
• Establishing strategic partnerships in key hydrogen markets, engaging with investors and funding agencies, and representing ENERTRAG in international forums is part of your external engagement.
• Ensuring alignment between internal teams and external partners, while facilitating clear communication across all commercial and technical interfaces, defines your coordination efforts.
Qualifications
• A degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field provides the academic foundation for your commercial and strategic expertise.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in international project environments—ideally in energy, hydrogen, or infrastructure—have prepared you for this leadership role.
• Preferably an in-debt understanding of the current regulatory framework of the Hydrogen/PtX market in the EU/Global, allowing you to identify target markets and clients along the PtX value chain.
• Proven track record and network within the PtX value chain is seen as essential for the successful execution of this position.
• Strong intercultural competence and excellent communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and geographies.
• Fluency in English (professional working proficiency) is required; good command of German and knowledge of Spanish are considered an advantage.
