Head of Finance and Operations

The National Biodiversity Network Trust is seeking a Head of Finance and Operations for a fully remote role in the UK, offering a salary of £40,000 for 28 hours per week. The position involves leading financial management and operations to support wildlife conservation efforts. The charity operates 100% remotely, with occasional in-person meetings. Applicants must reside in the UK and be eligible to work there.
Salary: £40,000 for 28 hours per week (£50,000 full-time equivalent)
Location: Fully remote, working from home, with some travel.
Contract: Permanent.
Hours: 28 hours per week (0.8FTE). Flexible working available.

Leading our financial management and operations functions, you’ll play a part in protecting and restoring UK wildlife, while advancing your career in the fast-growing ‘nature and climate’ space.

Lots of data. “What gets measured gets done”, as the saying goes. We need to understand what we’ve lost and what remains. We need to set targets for nature’s recovery. And we need to measure success as nature turns the corner and starts to make a comeback.

That’s where the NBN Trust comes in. We support the entire UK conservation movement by providing public access to the wildlife data that’s needed to make good decisions for nature. As the Trust grows and diversifies – including through the activity of trading subsidiaries – we need a dedicated Head of Finance and Operations to lead the management and development of these critical functions.

We’re a 100% remote-working charity, so you’ll need to be comfortable and effective working from home. The whole team meets up four times a year for in-person team meetings (in London and other locations around the UK). Applicants must reside in the UK and be eligible to work in the UK
