Harvey Conservation Corps

The AmeriCorps members at Harvey Conservation Corps will support community gardens, urban farms, and green spaces in Chicago, IL. Responsibilities include greening vacant lots, designing green spaces, and maintaining trails in parks. The role offers a stipend, education award, childcare assistance, and health coverage. It is a full-time position with no degree requirement, allowing work or school attendance during off hours.
Summary The AmeriCorps members will take responsibility for supporting community gardens, urban farms and healthy green streetscapes; creating and maintaining trails in nearby parks and forest preserves; helping residents with both environmental stewardship and health education around nature, connecting Harvey students with nature; and maintaining and improving public lands.

Member Duties : Essential Duties 1. Greening vacant lots and caring for street trees 2. Designing informal green spaces a. Creating /maintaining nature trails in public lands around the South Suburbs 3. Working in urban farms and community gardens
