HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) Advisor

Knelsen Sand & Gravel is hiring a full-time HSSE Advisor in Grande Prairie, AB, specializing in transportation safety. The role involves developing safety programs, conducting audits, training employees, investigating incidents, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Candidates must have an NCSO designation and experience in safety processes and transportation safety. This position is safety-sensitive and requires pre-employment drug screening.
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated full-time HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) Advisor
that specializes in transportation safety to join our team at our Grande Prairie location. The ideal
candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and
transportation regulations while promoting a culture of safety within the organization. This role
will be focused on transportation safety and our Carrier profile. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities
• Develop and implement health, safety, security, environmental and transportation
programs.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risk.
• Provide training to employees on safety protocols, procedures and Samsara.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing
corrective actions.
• Collaborate with management to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and analyze HSSE performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Monitor the carrier profile.

Skills
• NCSO designation is required.
• Strong supervisory skills to lead HSSE initiatives effectively.
• Knowledge of safety processes to effectively communicate the importance of HSSE
initiatives.
• Ability in process improvement methodologies to enhance safety practices.
• Experience in business development to promote HSSE culture within the organization.
• Experience using electronic safety documentation programs.
• Leadership qualities to inspire and engage employees in safety practices.
• Past experience in transportation safety, Samsara, Carrier profile knowledge and AMTA
auditing as asset.
