Job Description
Equis Australia is seeking an HSE Professional to manage health, safety, and environmental compliance at an enterprise level in Melbourne, VIC. This role involves implementing HSE strategies, ensuring regulatory adherence, and fostering a safety culture across construction and operational phases. The ideal candidate should have 5-10 years of experience in HSE roles, strong knowledge of Australian regulations, and the ability to engage stakeholders. This is a full-time position.
The Role
We are seeking a dynamic, self-starting HSE Professional to take ownership of HSE management at an enterprise level, ensuring compliance, best practices, and a culture of safety across our Australian business. This is a high-impact role that will oversee HSE across construction and operational phases, ensuring alignment with both local regulatory requirements and corporate HSE frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement and manage HSE strategies, policies, and procedures to support the business's growth in Australia
• Provide expert guidance on HSE matters for projects in delivery, including risk assessments, contractor management, and site safety compliance
• Develop and implement HSE frameworks for our project transitioning into operations in 2025, ensuring a seamless and compliant handover
• Ensure adherence to Australian HSE regulations and corporate standards, managing reporting obligations and audits
• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies to foster a strong safety culture
• Lead investigations, implement corrective actions, and drive ongoing HSE improvements
• Develop HSE awareness programs and support teams in building safety competencies
Qualifications & Experience
• 5-10 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in construction, energy, or infrastructure
• Diploma in HSE or equivalent qualification
• Strong knowledge of Australian HSE laws, regulations, and industry best practices
• Experience working across both construction and operational HSE environments
• Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
• Ability to work autonomously and drive initiatives in a fast-paced environment
