Are you a Qualified senior actuary and/or have a solid understanding and practical delivery of climate scenario analysis and modelling and how it can effectively be applied across a business like Aviva?

A bit about the job:

Group Climate Risk Lead role sits within Group Sustainability’s Environmental Centre of Excellence; and is critical to helping Aviva deliver its Sustainability Ambition, the management of Aviva’s exposure to climate-related risk and meeting the expectations of Aviva’s regulators. Climate Risk is a strategic issue, affecting financial performance, risk exposures & management, regulatory compliance and corporate reputation. This role will be accountable for providing group-wide strategic leadership on climate risks and will be a critical stakeholder for Aviva’s PRA and regulatory engagement on climate risk; working closely with key teams across Aviva (including Group NFR, Group Capital Management and Group Risk as well as with the business units) to shape the Group approach of embedding climate-related risk management into business and investment decisions. This role provides leadership and drives cross-functional impact to deliver climate scenarios and uses them to influence strategic business decisions right across the Group.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:
• Strong technical skills and understanding of climate-related risks and opportunities for Financial Institutions in particular across the investment and insurance businesses (asset and liability)
• Qualified senior actuary and/or with understanding and practical delivery of climate scenario analysis and modelling
• A strong understanding of regulatory requirements of TCFD and SS3/19 and familiarity with reporting approach for TCFD and transition planning as well as the governance supporting it
• Experience in leading and delivering a CBES type exercise for an Insurer or banking institution would be preferred
• Additionally, you need to be an effective influencer to persuade market level MDs, CFOs, CROs and CEOs to start using climate scenarios in relevant strategic business decisions
