Job Description

Cape Environmental Management Inc. is hiring a Groundwater Treatment Plant Technician in Mather, CA. The role involves operating and maintaining groundwater treatment systems, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Candidates should have technical training and certifications in related fields. The position offers a salary of $30/hr plus benefits, including health insurance and paid time off. This is a full-time, in-person position with up to 10% travel.
Groundwater Treatment Plant Technician/Operator – $30/hr + Benefits
Location: Sacramento, CA | Full-Time | Up to 10% Travel

Join our mission-driven team to help operate and maintain groundwater and soil vapor treatment systems at key environmental remediation sites. We’re looking for a hands-on, technically skilled professional with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to environmental safety.

Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain groundwater extraction and treatment systems (GETS) and soil vapor extraction (SVE) systems
• Monitor and troubleshoot PLC and SCADA-controlled equipment
• Perform groundwater and process water sampling
• Conduct quarterly landfill inspections and annual gas monitoring
• Oversee contractors during repair/maintenance activities
• Ensure compliance with all environmental and safety regulations

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Technical training in mechanical systems, pumps, electrical controls, or similar
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (required)
• Confined Space Entry/Rescue certification
• Valid driver’s license with clean record
• Experience with submersible pumps, VFDs, MOVs, and instrumentation
• Familiarity with SCADA/PLC systems and environmental sampling

Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
• USACE CQM training
• Environmental monitoring experience
