Position Overview
CASE seeks a highly skilled and experienced Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Expert specializing in geological seepage, particularly in and around lakes, wetlands, and other critical ecosystems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, geosciences, or a related discipline and the ability to perform comprehensive analyses, assess implications of seepage-related emissions, and contribute to innovative solutions for monitoring and mitigation.
This position offers a unique opportunity to leverage cutting-edge AI/ML technologies to address the critical challenge of GHG emissions from geological seepage, driving impactful research and real-world solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct detailed field and laboratory analyses to measure and evaluate GHG emissions from geological seepage in various ecosystems, including lakes and wetlands.
• Develop and implement methodologies for monitoring and quantifying seepage-related GHG emissions.
• Analyze geological and hydrological factors influencing seepage patterns and emission rates.
• Assess the environmental and ecological implications of seepage emissions on local and regional ecosystems.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop strategies for mitigation and adaptation to reduce environmental impact.
• Stay updated on scientific advancements, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies related to GHG emissions and geological seepage.
• Prepare technical reports, white papers, and presentations for stakeholders, including scientific audiences, regulatory agencies, and the general public.
• Contribute to grant proposals and research initiatives to secure funding for ongoing and future projects.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s (BS), Master’s (MS), or Doctorate (PhD) in Environmental Science, Geology, Geophysics, Ecology, or a related field.
• Mid- to senior-level professional experience in GHG studies, with a focus on geological seepage in aquatic and wetland ecosystems.
• Proficiency in GHG measurement techniques (e.g., gas flux chambers, remote sensing, isotopic analysis).
• Strong analytical skills, with expertise in statistical and geospatial tools (e.g., R, Python, GIS).
• Demonstrated ability to manage and execute complex research projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Skills
• Deep understanding of the implications of GHG seepage on climate systems and ecosystems.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and policies related to GHG emissions and geological seepage.
• Experience working in interdisciplinary teams or contributing to collaborative research projects.
• Proven track record of publications or contributions to peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Work Schedule And Requirements
This is a part time leading to full time fully remote role, requiring schedule flexibility.
