About the position

Ferguson Enterprises, LLC is seeking a Green Stormwater Infrastructure Specialist to join our team in Boston, MA. As the largest wholesale distributor of plumbing supplies and a major distributor of HVAC equipment and stormwater management products, Ferguson is committed to helping our partners build better. In this role, you will be responsible for presenting and promoting engineered products and solutions to specifiers, including civil engineers, municipalities, and landscape architects. Your expertise in the civil engineering and landscape architecture industry will be crucial as you cast vision for opportunities to implement these products into their designs, projects, and programs. This position requires a thorough understanding of green stormwater infrastructure and the ability to solve challenges with innovative engineered products. You will work actively to grow existing relationships and develop new ones with municipalities, civil engineers, landscape architects, and developers. Your responsibilities will include increasing industry awareness of Ferguson's Geo/Stormwater products through participation in tradeshows, conferences, and presentations, as well as preparing and delivering technical presentations throughout the assigned geography. You will also make visits to end users, engineering firms, and contractors to support project opportunities and expand awareness of Ferguson products within the industry. Coordination and management of projects through the specification process in conjunction with the Regional Design Engineer/Technical Designer will be essential. Additionally, you will research and understand local green infrastructure codes to build a targeted sales strategy for municipalities and developers, and work with the Ferguson outside sales team to assist contractors and municipalities with installation and maintenance practices of green infrastructure technologies. This role offers remote flexibility and requires regular travel within the designated region, including Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont. You will have the ability to work from home when not traveling, making this an excellent opportunity for those passionate about environmental protection and innovative engineering solutions.

Responsibilities
• Work actively to grow existing and develop new relationships with municipalities, civil engineers, landscape architects, and developers.

• Increase industry awareness of the Ferguson Geo/Stormwater products through attendance and participation in tradeshows, conferences, meetings, and presentations.

• Prepare and present technical presentations throughout the assigned geography.

• Make visits to end users, engineering firms, and contractors to support project opportunities and expand awareness of Ferguson products within the industry.

• Coordinate and manage projects through the specification process in conjunction with the Regional Design Engineer/Technical Designer.

• Support the national growth initiatives of the Geosynthetics and Stormwater Management team.
,
• Research and understand local green infrastructure codes to build a targeted sales strategy for municipalities and developers.
,
• Work with Ferguson outside sales team to assist contractors and municipalities with installation and maintenance practices of green infrastructure technologies.
,
• Coordinate and manage products in conjunction with the local Geosynthetics and Stormwater Management sales and Municipal sales associates.
,
• Provide management timely feedback on activities related to pending projects and sales, including tracking the pipeline of generated projects.

Requirements
• Civil Engineering degree or Engineering license, preferred.
,
• 3+ years experience with innovative products in the Geosynthetics and Stormwater Management space, preferred.
,
• Prior technical writing experience, including proposals, emails, and submittals, required.
,
• Competent and engaging public speaker.
,
• Strong computer proficiency including use of Microsoft applications and navigating multiple software systems, required.
,
• Basic reporting experience using Excel, including sorting, filtering, and data compilation, required.
,
• Demonstrated relationship building, customer service, and interpersonal skills, required.
,
• Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and multitasking skills needed, including the ability to balance multiple, urgent requests.
,
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
