Green Power Trader

Mitie is seeking a Green Power Trader in England to manage energy hedges for customers, collaborate with the Research team, and provide market updates. The role involves executing trades, maintaining records, and advising on energy purchasing strategies. Candidates should have extensive experience in energy markets. This is a full-time position with no degree requirement.
Mitie's Markets division is focused on delivering exceptional results in the energy sector. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Green Power Trader.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in energy markets, including an understanding of general supply/demand fundamental drivers. They will work closely with the Research team to monitor energy markets and provide regular updates to customers.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

• Managing energy hedges for multiple strategic customers with flexible supply agreements.

• Collaborating with the Research team to track energy market developments.

• Preparing and disseminating daily reports to customers on market trends and hedge recommendations.

• Providing guidance to customers on gas and power purchases in line with their risk management policies and executing trades accordingly.

• Maintaining accurate records of all trades, utilizing voice recordings when feasible to adhere to FCA guidelines.

• Assisting customers in developing and reviewing energy purchasing strategies to align with their organization's risk tolerance.

• Creating reports to illustrate performance against market averages, budgeted costs, and portfolio position metrics.

• Remaining up-to-date on energy policy developments affecting wholesale markets and non-energy charges.

• Supporting Senior Risk Managers and the wider Risk and Contract Management teams as needed.
