Job Description
The Center for Environmental Health is seeking a Grants Manager to oversee the grant lifecycle, including research, proposal writing, and management of active grants. This role involves collaboration with internal teams and maintaining relationships with funders. The Center for Environmental Health has a proven track record of reducing exposure to toxic chemicals, but we can’t do it alone. As the Grants Manager, you will oversee the entire grant lifecycle, including researching funding opportunities, writing proposals, and managing active grants. You will track reporting, stewardship, and outcomes while collaborating with internal teams on creating compelling messages and reports.
Additionally, you’ll maintain relationships with funders and supervise the Philanthropic Partnerships Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the Senior Director of Advancement, Philanthropic Partnerships to set goals and strategies for securing grants, corporate partnerships, and foundation support.
• Identify new funding opportunities and write compelling grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and all required documents, ensuring alignment with the goals of CEH.
• Write and oversee the writing of Letters of Inquiry (LOls), proposals, reports, and other communications.
• Create and maintain high-level narrative boiler plates and story banks to be used throughout the year that are vetted by program staff.
• Manage active funders’ accounts, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines, timelines, reporting, and expenditures with the finance team. Prepare and submit timely progress and final reports.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with funders and cultivate ongoing stewardship to encourage ongoing support.
• Oversee and ensure that grant calendars, meeting notes, correspondence, calendars, and project plans are in the CRM (Salesforce), Asana, and SharePoint, maintained and up-to-date.
• Collaborate closely with all internal stakeholders to develop compelling and accurate messaging and reports to funders.
• Supervise the Philanthropic Partnerships Coordinator to partner with you in the grants process.
• Other tasks as needed to support the Philanthropic Partnerships fundraising goals and objectives as a team.
What We Are Looking For
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional working experience.
• At least 3 years of grant writing for a nonprofit or equivalent experience
• At least one year of experience supervising a direct report.
• Strong project management skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with overlapping deadlines. (Asana experience a plus)
• Ability to thrive in a team environment and work collaboratively
• Excellent written, verbal, editing, and interpersonal communication skills.
