The Global Sustainability Director at Martin Brower will lead the company's sustainability strategy, focusing on net zero and circular solutions. About the position

As the Global Sustainability Director at Martin Brower, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading our sustainability strategy on a global scale. This position is integral to our mission of delivering net zero and circular solutions across our supply chain services. You will be responsible for developing a comprehensive, long-term sustainability plan that aligns with our company's mission and values, particularly focusing on our net zero goals. Your leadership will guide the execution of ambitious environmental objectives, emphasizing climate action and the reduction of our environmental footprint. In this role, you will oversee the measurement and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), ensuring that we track our progress effectively. You will develop and implement climate roadmaps that define clear targets for GHG reduction and zero waste to landfill initiatives. Identifying opportunities to minimize our environmental impact throughout operations and the supply chain will be a key focus, prioritizing strategies that mitigate climate change. You will manage and report on our sustainability performance in accordance with relevant frameworks and standards, such as CDP and CSRD, with a specific emphasis on GHG emissions and waste reporting. Engaging with customers and advocating for sustainability principles in all business decisions will be essential. Staying updated on emerging trends in corporate sustainability, particularly regarding climate change mitigation, will also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will develop and deliver training programs to enhance climate change awareness among employees, ensuring that sustainability principles are integrated into our corporate culture. Your role will involve liaising with market sustainability leads to aggregate learning and data across the company, as well as managing ad-hoc requests for data extraction and analysis. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Global Sustainability and is crucial for driving our sustainability initiatives forward.

Responsibilities
• Direct the development of a comprehensive, long-term sustainability plan aligned with the company's mission, values, and net zero goals.

• Lead the development and execution of ambitious environmental goals and objectives, with a strong emphasis on climate action.

• Oversee the company's environmental footprint, including greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) measurement, reduction strategies, and progress tracking.

• Develop and implement comprehensive climate roadmaps that define clear targets and pathways for achieving ambitious GHG reduction and zero waste to landfill goals.

• Identify and implement opportunities to reduce the company's environmental impact throughout its operations and supply chain, prioritizing climate change mitigation strategies.
,
• Manage and report on the company's sustainability performance according to relevant frameworks and standards (e.g., CDP, CSRD), with a specific focus on GHG emissions and waste reporting.

• Support customer requests and engagement as required.

• Advocate for and integrate sustainability principles into all aspects of the company's business decisions, including capital planning.

• Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in corporate sustainability, particularly those related to climate change mitigation.

• Develop and deliver sustainability training programs for employees at all levels, emphasizing climate change awareness and action.

• Build and maintain robust process documentation and support ESG auditing.

• Liaise with market sustainability leads to aggregate learning and data across the company.

• Manage ad-hoc business requests for data extraction and analysis.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of related experience and 6+ years of management experience.
,
• 10+ years of experience in developing and implementing sustainability strategies with a focus on climate change in a global organization.
,
• Proven track record of success in greenhouse gas emissions reporting and driving sustainability action.
,
• Strong understanding of climate science, GHG accounting methodologies, and carbon reduction strategies.
,
• Experience with climate change regulations and reporting frameworks.
,
• Proven experience in reporting implementation for multinational business.
,
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
,
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and strong project management skills.

• Strong analytical and data management skills with the ability to focus on the details.

Nice-to-haves
• Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
