GM/CEO Designate: Decarbonisation business in Africa | Nairobi, KE | In-Office

AltGen Recruitment Group is seeking a GM/CEO Designate for a decarbonisation business in Nairobi, Kenya. The role involves leading operational restructuring, enhancing project profitability, and building investor confidence. The candidate will manage a small team across multiple regions, focusing on decarbonisation projects for industrial clients. Previous experience in infrastructure project development and working with European DFi funders is essential. The position is in-office with full sponsorship available.
PE backed behind the meter focused business developing projects for industrial clients across Africa. Lead the company into a new operational phase through restructuring operations, instilling commercial accountability and improving project velocity from investment committee approval through to COD and revenue generation. Nairobi based.

- Operationalise the platform

- Drive project profitability

- Restructure organisation for deeper execution capability

- Build investor confidence and governance

- Lead small team (<30) spread across multiple countries and regions to work as a highly organised, lean 'machine' that is able to meet the demand for decarbonisation and energy self-reliance.

Previous experience in optimisation or turnaround implementations within an infrastructure project development environment is essential. Experience with working and reporting to European DFi funders is highly advantageous.
