Job Description

AECOM is seeking a GIS Programmer for its Technology Solutions Department in the Water Business Line, with a hybrid work model. The role involves providing GIS programming support, managing project tasks, and coordinating enterprise GIS projects. Responsibilities include data management, developing web-based geospatial content, and performing QA/QC reviews. Candidates should have experience in GIS programming, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
AECOM’s Technology Solutions Department in our Water Business Line is actively seeking a highly motivated, talented, and creative GIS Programmer to work out of the Albuquerque, New Mexico office on a hybrid basis. In this role you will be able to demonstrate an established progressive career in GIS programming and Information Technology while providing technical GIS support, task management, and coordination on a wide range of enterprise GIS and digital projects and programs across the region.

You will have the ability to assist in managing project tasks and project teams to support ongoing projects and quality control. You will need the ability to thrive in an oftentimes fast-paced environment, have attention to detail, and possess a broad range of GIS programming and QA/QC capabilities.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Support and serve as technical lead on large-scale enterprise GIS programs
• Create, manage, validate and maintain various types of GIS data, databases and services
• Develop, deploy and manage web-based geospatial content, applications and systems
• Plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate GIS tasks and assignments
• Maintain an effective and frequent line of communication amongst team members and clients
• Provide consultation for geospatial strategic planning and resolution of issues, technical assistance and training
• Plan and administer installations, upgrades and enhancements of GIS hardware, software, and procedures
• Develop tools, scripts and workflows to automate and streamline mapping, data management and geoprocessing tasks
• Automation of Geoprocessing tools using Python and familiarity with Microsoft.NET.
• Understanding of the fundamentals of Web GIS, Server, ArcGIS client interoperations
• Perform QA/QC review of GIS data and compile metadata.
