Job Description

Carbon, Inc. is hiring a Full Stack Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2025 in Redwood City, CA. The role involves developing customer-facing software and collaborating with a diverse team using technologies like Typescript and React. The internship lasts approximately 10 weeks from June to August 2025 and requires in-office work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Candidates should be pursuing a degree in Software Engineering or related fields.
You'll be joining a close-knit team, working with experts in 3D geometry, web technologies, cloud infrastructure, firmware, and everything in between. We've had fun team activities where we escape rooms (real and virtual), play games, do archery, and cook delicious food. We also have a variety of employee-started communities at Carbon: bootcamp, gaming, book club, employee diversity groups, and many more that you can participate in, and maybe even start your own! As an intern on our full stack application development team, you will work closely with our software and product teams to design and implement features that immediately impact customers. At the same time, you will expand your software development skills and learn from a variety of mentors.

This role is based in our Redwood City, California office and requires a hybrid at home/in office engagement (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the office).

Our Summer internship program is approximately 10 weeks long between the dates of June 3rd - August 22nd 2025.
You will...
• Build customer-facing software, primarily focusing on the frontend and backend of web applications that enable users to design, manipulate, queue, and print digital models
• Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, product management, and designer to build user interfaces that delight our customers
• Use and learn about modern technologies such as Typescript, React.js, Node.js, Three.js, PostgreSQL, Nest.js, Material UI, and others
You have...
• Intentions to graduate in 2026 - 2027 with an undergraduate degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent program
• Experience in javascript and web application development (we use React and Node.js, but any modern library experience is welcome)!
• Curiosity about how things work and eagerness to be coached and learn new skills
• Strong collaboration and communication skills

You do not need to match every listed expectation to apply for this position. Here at Carbon, we know that diverse perspectives foster the innovation we need to be successful, and we are committed to building a team that encompasses a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and skills.

At Carbon, we look at the person holistically and carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation. The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $44.00. Your actual salary will be based on your experience, work location, certifications and the unique skills you bring to the role.
