Freelance Landscape Designer

Environmental Design Studio is seeking a Freelance Landscape Designer in Los Angeles, CA. The role involves collaborating with clients, creating sustainable landscape designs using various software, and conducting site analyses. This contract position offers flexibility with a hybrid remote work option, requiring a maximum of 25 hours per week.
Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Freelance Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design with a focus on sustainable practices and landscape maintenance. This role requires proficiency in various design software and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients to bring their visions to life. As a Freelance Designer, you will have the flexibility to work on diverse projects while contributing to environmentally responsible design solutions.

Responsibilities
• Collaborate with clients to understand their design needs and preferences.
• Create innovative designs for landscape projects, ensuring sustainability and functionality.
• Utilize Adobe Creative Suite, CAD, and Sketchup for drafting and visualizing designs.
• Conduct land surveying and site analysis to inform design decisions.
• Develop detailed plans that include hardscape elements and landscape maintenance considerations.
• Prepare presentations and proposals for client review.
• Incorporate feedback from clients into revised designs while maintaining project timelines.
• Stay updated on industry trends, sustainable design practices, and new technologies.

Requirements
• Proven experience in landscape design or related field.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, CAD, ArcGIS, ArcView, and Sketchup.
• Strong understanding of sustainable design principles and practices.
• Experience with land surveying techniques is preferred.
• Ability to draft detailed plans and specifications for projects.
• Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• A portfolio showcasing previous design work is required.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $27.99 - $31.90 per hour
