Position: Founding Director, Center for Climate and Health, Associate Professor/Professor
Location: New York

The Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health ("the Mailman School"), widely recognized as a leader at the intersection of climate and health, invites nominations, expressions of interest, and applications for the Founding Director of the new school wide Center for Climate and Health ("the Center"). The Mailman School has hosted a Climate and Health Program since 2008 and, with generous philanthropic support, is launching a search for the Founding Director, who will hold the inaugural Jonathan and Jeannie Lavine Chair in Climate and Health.

The Director will have a primary appointment in one of the six academic departments within the Mailman School (Biostatistics, Environmental Health Sciences, Epidemiology, Health Policy & Management, Population & Family Health, and Sociomedical Sciences) and an appointment at the Columbia Climate School.

The ideal candidate will be a highly experienced professional with a record of academic achievement in environmental health, public health, biomedical, natural, or socio-economic sciences, communication, or environmental justice related to climate change. They should possess a strong understanding of current and emerging challenges, a vision for the Center's future, and the ability to inspire collaboration.
