Williams Forestry & Associates is hiring 112 Forestry Workers for a temporary, full-time seasonal role from October 1, 2024, to June 15, 2025, in Calhoun, GA. Workers will perform physically demanding tasks, including digging holes for tree seedlings and will be required to travel to various worksites across multiple states. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and have three months of tree planting experience.
About the position

Williams Forestry and Associates LLC is seeking to fill 112 Forestry Worker positions for a temporary, full-time seasonal role. The employment period is from October 1, 2024, to June 15, 2025. Workers will report to 400 Bottom Road, Millville, Columbia County, PA 17846, with a pay rate of $24.89 per hour. The employer will provide daily transportation between the reporting address and various worksites across multiple states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, Wisconsin, and West Virginia. The primary duties involve physically demanding tasks such as digging holes (approximately 1200-1500 per day) to plant tree seedlings using hand planting tools in a forest environment. Workers will be exposed to various weather conditions and must be capable of performing strenuous labor for long hours, sometimes in extreme heat or cold. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with the potential for 40+ hours per week, excluding breaks. Weekend and holiday work may be required depending on project needs, weather, and commute times. Candidates must be at least 18 years old due to travel requirements and must provide proof of legal authority to work in the U.S. The work environment is drug, alcohol, and tobacco-free. Workers should be prepared to walk up to 15 miles a day, carry packs weighing up to 50 lbs, and navigate rough terrain. A minimum of three months of tree planting experience is required, but there is no minimum education requirement. All applicants must be available for the entire employment period and willing to work in various locations as needed. The employer may conduct random drug and alcohol testing during employment, and a background check may be performed post-hire at the employer's expense.
